Mixed-use redevelopment planned at Richardson’s south gateway

Owners of an aging office building at the south gateway to Richardson are working on plans for a new mixed-use development.

The retail, office and residential project would surround the Comerica Bank building at the northeast corner of U.S. Highway 75 and Spring Valley Road. Property owner Serene Global plans to develop three additional buildings surrounding the existing 6-story, 76,000 square-foot office building on the site.

The largest of the planned additions to the property would be a 14-story retail, parking and apartment tower on the north side of the site, according to designs presented to Richardson’s planning and zoning commission. The proposed tower would have 15,000 square feet of retail space, 509 parking spaces and 160 apartments.
