A Dallas-area school district hopes to raise millions of dollars through the sale of surplus properties.
The Lewisville Independent School District has hired commercial real estate firm Cushman & Wakefield to sell almost a dozen properties in Carrollton, The Colony, Lewisville, Flower Mound and Highland Village. The sale includes more than 250 acres in Dallas’ northwest suburbs.
The offerings range from 3.5 acres to more than 80 acres. Two of the properties have buildings, including a 23,000-square-foot building in downtown Lewisville.
“Lewisville ISD is recognized for its dedication to resource stewardship and being fiscally conservative with taxpayer dollars,” LISD Superintendent of Schools Kevin Rogers said in a statement. “The district purchased most of these properties to prepare for anticipated growth.
